About Us

Bueno Glass is a collaboration between husband and wife, Thor and Jennifer Bueno, who first began working together after meeting at Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood, Washington, 20 years ago. In 2008, they completed a three-year residency at Penland School of Crafts in the mountains of North Carolina. Thor and Jennifer set up their studio after the residency in Penland where they continue to find inspiration in nature.

Thor Bueno started blowing glass in 1979 while growing up in southern California. Studying with Italo Scanga, he received a BFA from the University of California at San Diego and MFA from Alfred University. Thor's solo work ranges from functional-decorative, object as sculpture, to installation and performance based artworks.

Jennifer Bueno grew up in Seneca, South Carolina. She attended Rhode Island School of Design where she received a BFA in glass, and has earned two MFAs, one from Bard College in sculpture and one from Alfred University in glass. Jennifer's solo work combines the material of glass with satellite imagery in a way that alters perspective and shifts sensorial experience.
